Each and every one of us has, in some way, been affected by cancer - whether it be a personal battle with the life-threatening illness, or a close friend, or relative who has suffered from it - cancer is everywhere.

For me, it was the loss of a close family friend and neighbor, Chuck Harvey who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer shortly after his diagnosis in December 2009. In honor of Mr. Harvey, and many other close friends and family that have suffered from cancer, I watched my mother, sister and grandmother raise money and awareness for cancer in the Tri-for-a-Cure Triathon this summer in Maine.

In this spirit, I ran the 2010 Boston Marathon in an effort to raise $10,000 for basic cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The race itself went great! The hard part, though, is raising the $10,000! I'm less than $2,000 away, and with your help and support, I know I can exceed this fundraising goal. Every little bit you can give counts!

Thank you to all the people who came to cheer on my DFMC teammates and me as we raced towards the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer. It was truly an incredible experience and I loved every minute of it. We trained and ran with thousands of special people in minds and hope in our hearts. Dana-Farber is setting the pace in the race against cancer, and we’re grateful for your help.

Thank you!!!
