OUR BOSTON MARATHON STORY:

I am grateful for the opportunity to run my 1st Boston Marathon to support Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

My identical twin, Leah, and I began running together with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer on March 17, 2012 to support pediatric cancer research in memory of Leah's brother-in-law, Michael, who died from relapsed leukemia on St. Patrick's Day 2003.

We also found solace in running in memory of our grandmother, GG, who died unexpectedly from lung cancer on July 16, 2012.

Leah finished her 1st Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013 and we were reunited moments before the tragedy occurred.

Our hearts broke as we followed the stories of those who were killed and injured.

In the midst of the pain and sadness, I was inspired by the stories of compassion, community, hope, resilience and perseverance.

I was determined to qualify for Boston (BQ) so Leah and I could run together in memory of those who died and in honor of those who survived.

On October 13, 2013, I attempted to BQ for the 1st time while raising awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research.

I was grateful for every single step I took to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research even though I didn't reach my BQ goal after multiple attempts.

On November 20, 2016, I finally succeeded at my 12th attempt to BQ by finishing the Philadelphia Marathon 3:46:13 (Personal Record).

Since I accomplished my BQ goal, I am committed to accomplishing my fundraising goal.

To double the impact of your generosity, I am matching all donations until I reach my 1st fundraising goal of $5,000.

No donation is too small and 100% of every $1 supports cancer research.

Thank you so very much for your support and generosity.
