My Fundraising Goal:
Money Raised to Date:
Please join me in the fight to conquer cancer!

One hundred percent of every dollar raised by the DFMC team supports the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Check out this short video to see how funds raised through DFMC are fueling some of today's most promising basic cancer research.

On August 26, 2012, my Jimmy Fund Patient Partner, Brielle, lost her battle with cancer. She was only 13 years old and fought this disease most of her short life. Brielle touched my heart in so many ways. She was my hero and no matter what she was going through, she always had a smile on her face. She was “Not Afraid” of cancer. It is just so unfair that a child as beautiful and amazing as Brielle had to have her life cut so short. It just has to stop! No more, especially the children! That is why we run.

I am a 12 year Breast Cancer Survivor and will be just shy of my 13th year anniversary the day of the marathon!!! I was fortunate enough that the treatment was there for me. I am “Living Proof” as to why we must continue funding cancer research! I truly believe there will be a total cure someday! It may not be in my lifetime but hopefully in our children’s lifetime.

I know that Brielle is going to be with me every step of the way! She will be with me on every training run and all 26.2 miles on Marathon Monday. Training in the cold temperatures with ice, snow and wind and the aches and pains I will endure in the many long hours of running, is nothing compared to what Brielle and other cancer patients like her go through in their treatments. That’s what empowers me to never give up. Of course, my wonderful dad, Allen, who lost his horrible fight with cancer and my mom, Florence, my biggest supporter and best friend, will be right there alongside Brielle carrying me to the finish!!

If you’ll be in Boston on April 17, I hope you’ll watch the marathon and cheer me on! Make sure you are wearing lots of purple and make as many butterfly signs as you can! Brielle loved butterflies and the color purple! My teammates and I have been training with thousands of special people in mind and hope in our hearts. On race day, thoughts of those special people will carry us to the finish line when the going gets tough. Thanks again for your support!
